My horse's name is Diesel Powered. He is a chestnut snowflake Appaloosa, with an Appaloosa I.Q., 15.2 hands high. Every day he poops in his grain bucket and it has to be cleaned out or he will just eat around it. Why does he do this? I don't know!
We board Diesel at the Moore Academy, Elk Mound, WI. He's well taken care of there and it is easy to arrange winter riding with the indoor arena.
I told you he has an Appaloosa I.Q. Diesel or "Big D", as our barn friends like to call him, can also be very sweet to anyone, of course those who have treats he is especially nice to! Diesel's specialty is dressage, not particularly my favorite. So, he is good for me and we will advance him in JUMPING!
Interesting facts about the Appaloosa breed: They are distinguished by their coat patterns. Their names are derived from the Palouse river in Mexico. There are five different types and coat patterns, which ensures that no two appaloosas look identical. The feet are very good and hard, sometimes striped, and the mane and tail are thin and short. Appaloosas may have spots of any color. They have stamina and endurance and jump well.
