We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.
Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free

I Looked for God
I looked for God to be revealed. I thought,
Now will some wondrous miracle be wrought;
Some mystic sign will surely now appear
To prove beyond a doubt that God is near.
But life went on in much the usual way;
Familiar homely tasks absorbed each day.
No mystical experience was mine;
No evidence of miracle divine.
But, gradually, with heart alert to see,
His signs in simple things were shown to me.
I saw Him in my house, fresh-cleaned and bright;
I saw Him in my sleeping child at night.
I felt Him kneel beside me in my garden;
At close of day I knew His peace and pardon.
I looked for God and found Him all about--
No miracle - - just peace replacing doubt.

In My Dream
In my Dream,
I loved an angel,
eyes deep with love,
my eyes gazed into,
skin of the finest silk,
my fingers did gently caress,
lips made from the purest honey,
my lips did deeply taste
In my dream,
an angel loved me,
with soft whispers of love,
my soul she soothed,
with a smile warm of passion,
my heart she melted,
with touch soft of summer breeze,
my face she lovingly stroked
In my dream,
an angel and I loved each other,
our bodies gently entwined in lovers embrace,
our souls merging in to one,
our lover moans caressing the night,
our hearts sharing the lovers song,
our very beings offered up for the other care
In my dream I loved an angel,
In my dream an angel loved me,
In my dream an angel and I loved each other

The Angel Within
Inside all of us, there lies an Angel within.
He or She it matters not.
The Angel is where we all begin.
God has instructed our Angel to serve and protect,
But it is up to us to heed Its advice.
For if we are blind to Its teachings,
We have only ourselves to blame in retrospect.
Sometimes we may not like what It says,
Because the Truth often hurts.
Yet, if we remember the Angel's purpose,
The wounds heal quickly,
And our Protector helps change our ways.
Listen to the Voice within.
And when you next look in the mirror,
The Angel will be smiling back,
No longer confined within.
