| I'm just speaking my mind -2003 Well for starters Russell is one of the most talented,most unpredictable actors of our time.I know pretty much everthing there is to be known about him except all his personal business. He's been called rude and arrogant at times,and then been called nice and funny at others. I guess it all depends on who's making the comment lol. Anyways I've been a fan since 2001 and i've picked up on a lot of stuff since then. From his lastest interview to his most recent fist fight -just joking lol. I know he probably can be a bit of an A-hole at times,but who isn't. THat's why I like him. He is who he is.He doesn't really care what others think.He's a rebal. One thing I do know is that he is loyal to most of his fans.I know he made that "panty" remark a couple of months ago,but I don't think he meant to hurt anyones feelings. He just seems to put his foot in his mouth A LOT of the time.I admit I have been angered at some of his comments, I just take them as a grain of salt most of the time. Some comments are accually pretty entertaining like this radio interview. A lot of the time I don't really take him seariously,but I think he was wrong for making fun of Mel Gibson.He can also be very generous.He helps out many charities and continually donates equipment and money to his favorite rugby team. Anyways my main point is that he's just an average guy. One thing i've noticed about most of his fans is that they seem to forget just that. They take everything he does and disect it till they can't anymore.I'm not talking about all of his fans just some. He's a great guy and he does make mistakes. I'm not going to defend him on everything he does either. He's my favorite actor and i'll just leave it at that. |

| My thoughts of Russell -2005 Well there's no doubt about it that my view of Russell has changed drastically since 2002. Not neccessarily in a negative way,but as a result of becoming much more mature i can understand things very differently. Back then when i would read about russell being hard to work with on sets and being rather arrogant i would sort of brush it off my shoulder and not really see it as a big deal ( i mean, as long as he's making good quality movies i really don't give a fudge how he acts). Anyways, last month (June of 2005) he was arrested for throwing a phone at a hotel clerk and causing the guy to get a minor cut above one of his eyes...wow. I laughed b/c i thought it was a joke at first...It wasn't.He needed to call his wife and child in Australia but the phone in he room was not working properly.The guy at the front desk wasn't willing to help, so out of rage/jet lag/tiresome/whatever Russell brought the phone from the room and threw it at the guy. Shortly after that NYPD went and arrested him on (im not sure how many) counts of assault with a weapon. Seeing him walk w/ handcuffs just made me sad all over.It was llike seeing one of those people that you look up to and respect get escorted to an awaiting SUV that's about ready to leave for a court hearing. I still adore him as an actor and as a person,but i must admit that i think he needs some counseling.Cinderella man is probably one of the few good quality films i've ever seen in my whole life and it just made me sad to see it just waste in the theatres and get bad box office numbers. Sorry, but people don't want to support a film whose lead actor get arrested a couple of days after its release,i can't blame them.Many say it's because most people view it as him attacking a fan rather than just a hotel employee.He regrets it,His fans wish he never did it,His enemies are probably laughing... |
