Evening Lulluby
Summer sounds drift softly,
Through the window in the night;
Soft breeze moves the curtain,
In a slow dance with moonlight.
A whisper of the night bird,
Fills the twilight air;
The fragrance of the summer bloom,
Lingers softly, sweetly there.
Shining from a navy sky,
Is a languid harvest moon;
Its moonbeams shine upon the bed,
And dance across the room.
On the sultry summer breeze,
Floats the whistle of a train;
As distant thunder rumbles,
From a promised summer rain.
There on the dark horizon,
Lightening flashes 'cross the sky;
Gentle raindrops kiss the rooftop,
In an evening lullaby.

The Better Part of Me
The way you speak so softly,
The way you say my name;
The tender way you touch me,
I'll never be the same.
No one has ever moved me,
To give my heart so completely;
The part I held so tightly to,
You took from me so sweetly.
You move me like no other,
There just aren't words to describe;
The way your heart has touched mine,
And the way I feel inside.
The times that I am with you,
Are when I feel so whole;
You are my anchor in life's storms,
You keep me in control.
So, keep the very heart of me,
And treat it tenderly;
You are the reason that I live,
You're the better part of me.

The Treasure
There have always been vast riches,
Resting deep within my soul;
An untapped living treasure,
Like lost and buried gold.
Waiting for someone to find,
To pull out of my heart;
A treasure trove of hidden words,
Of rich poetic art.
Like diamonds trapped beneath the earth,
Like a butterfly's cocoon;
A rainy, stormy summer night,
When clouds conceal the moon.
Silent hidden riches,
Yet when they are revealed;
They dance with sparkling beauty,
That was before concealed.
Somehow this living treasure,
That was buried there so deeply;
Pours forth with shimmering brightness,
From my heart and souls so sweetly.
Like sunlight through a prism,
Each color bright and true;
The words pour forth in dancing light;
And all inspired by you.
For you have found the beauty,
Gently pulled it from my soul;
And as you hold it in your hands,
My heart is full and whole.
An untapped living treasure,
Of rich poetic art;
Dances in sparkling beauty,
As it pours forth from my heart.

Forgiveness
Nothing is as painful,
As unforgiveness to the soul.
A heart that's torn asunder,
With forgiveness becomes whole.
A single kind word spoken,
Means more than countless words.
The three words, "I forgive you,"
Are all that need be heard.
To a soul that has been wounded,
Like a healing, cooling balm;
Forgiveness soothes and comforts,
Till at last the soul is calm.
For the soul that seeks forgiveness,
When forgiveness can't be found;
It struggles vainly everyday,
To hear that simple sound.
The power in those three kind words,
Can heal a heart that's broken.
But that heart cannot begin to heal,
As long as words remain unspoken.
Compassion in it's purest sense,
Reside in those three words.
The three words, "I forgive you,"
Are all that need be heard.

Circle Of Love
In reaching out a hand of love,
To touch another heart;
A seed of love is planted,
And so the circle starts.
From that tiny seed of love,
A garden grows and blooms;
Bringing forth a flower of hope,
That shares its sweet perfume.
For every time the blossom,
Is passed from man to man;
The circle grows much stronger,
As they join hand in hand.
A never ending circle,
Will keep on touching hearts;
As long as seeds of love still bloom,
That were planted at the start.

Thankful
If I am thankful for one thing,
I know that this is true;
I'm thankful God has blessed me,
With such a friend as you.
He has given to my life,
Blessings I cannot explain;
For I am least deserving,
And yet His love remains.
Still He saw fit to send you,
When He knew I needed a friend;
He set our paths so they would cross,
On a journey with no end.
So, I am thankful in this life,
For blessings tried and true.
But most of all I am thankful,
That God sent a friend like you.

Love Remains
Love that stands the test of time,
Endures the greatest pain;
Standing firm against the storm,
And yet, still love remains.
A calm among the storm tossed winds,
A peace down deep inside;
Will keep that faith alive and strong,
As long as love abides.
Love that conquers anything,
Knows only how to give;
Asking nothing in return,
A love that will forgive.
It looks past any sorrow,
Much stronger than the wind;
The faith that stands the storms of life,
Will be there in the end.
Faith that's given everything,
With nothing left to give;
Will find the strength to give yet more,
When only love remains.

An Angel's Lulluby
Sleep so sweetly slumbering babe,
Nestled snug and warm;
For the Father sends His angels,
To keep you safe and warm.
A bundle fresh from Heaven,
Without and earthly care;
Sleeping there in innocence,
Angels hover in the air.
They whisper to you sweet dreams,
They sing a lullaby;
An angel's song to soothe you,
To quiet you when you cry.
A song of peaceful harmony,
Caressing you as you sleep;
Words drift 'round your tiny head,
While angel's guard and keep.
Sleep so sweetly slumbering babe,
While time goes gently by;
Your angels watch and sing to you,
An angel's lullaby.
