PINHEAD: Introduced from the brillant horror author, Clive Barker, Pinhead was very different from the other horror icons. While most of the horror icons had their own victims and were kept simply psychotic, Pinhead was from HELL itself. Pinhead is the Prince of Hell and Torture both. By solving a puzzle box, the box would open the gates of hell and Pinhead would come to claim his victim.
While many horror fans do not even consider Pinhead a slasher, Pinhead is probably the most powerful horror villan in the genre. Not only can he assume his demonic cenobites, he has power to do almost anything. Proven in Hellraiser 3, Pinhead can even walk into a church and blow people to bits.
Though Hellraiser 3 tried to make Pinhead into another Freddy Kruegar, the other sequels prove Pinhead is truly a wise villan. Unlike the comical Freddy or mindless Jason, Pinhead is quite intellegent.
Most of the time, he slays his victims by his famous chains. Pinhead tortures all of his victims before he destroys them. Throughout the 80's, Pinhead was more respected than the other horror icons. Even though he has a line of sequels, most were done with respect and seriousness unlike the NIGHTMARE and FRIDAY films.
Pinhead could probably take out Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface at the same time. This is one dude, you do not want to call upon.
What can I say but classic? This movie is very terrifying and makes your skin crawl. The torture scenes are done very nicely and Pinhead is proves why he is called....Prince of Hell.
While some horror fans even think this might have a slight edge over the first, it does have a well drawn out plot and delivers a very good horror film.
HELLRAISER III: HELL
ON EARTH D
Almost a disgrace. While it is fun to watch how powerful Pinhead really is, he is also shown as a Freddy Kruegar rip-off.
HELLRAISER IV: BLOODLINE
Buckets of blood are drawn into this film, as it explores the history of the box and Pinhead in space.....
HELLRAISER: INFERNO F
Why was this called HELLRAISER? It could have been a better film if it was stand alone and not added the HELLRAISER word to the title. Pinhead is in it a total of 5 minutes. Yawn.
