Leonard Milholland talks

to a packed tent at the

ultralight forums tent.

There was quite a croud
around the LEU after the
Better Half forum.
Leonard Milholland ready to taxi to the runway for first LEU takeoff at Oshkosh.
Yes, it really did fly at Oshkosh,
and by four pilots!
Another day, Joe Maynard pulls the LEU out onto the staging area for takeoff.   Joe enjoyed flying the pattern and making a couple landings. Joe is part of a team of 4 men that built and fly a LEU in Ohio.
Note the red bottle next to the seat.  No, it isn't a fire extinguisher.  (Though that may be a good idea.) It's the reservoir for Leonard's $10.00 smoke system. He says it only cost that much because he replaced the propane torch that he built it from.  It injects a small quantity of ??? (Diesel?) into one exhaust pipe.  Unfortunately Airventure officials get nervious when an ultralight puts out smoke, so he wasn't allowed to turn it on.

Leonard watches as Mike Kimbrel pre-flight's the LEU.  Mike and his son both flew it that day.  Mike is an airline pilot who also has a hangar full of fun airplanes, including a DC-3!
