My Legal Eagle Ultralight by Paul Loghry updated 8-12-2004
Pilot Joe Maynard gets a little help from his friends, John Bolding on the tail and Leonard Milholland on the prop.
At left, Leonard helps the last minute adjustments and advice for Joe. Note the red bottle. I refer to it as Leonard's question generator because we get about as many questions about it as anything else. It is his smoke system. He opens a valve and drips a little diesel into an exhaust pipe. There was a magazine write-up on it last year. But, the officials won't let him use it at Oshkosh.
This is the sight we have been waiting for, 2 Legal Eagles in the air at the same at Oshkosh. Leonard's is to the left and the UltraVair airplane is to the right.

Fletcher Burns taxis his UltraVair Aviation version of the Legal Eagle behind Leonard's Legal Eagle. The UltraVair is a 1/3 Corvair engine. In power, size and weight it is similar to the 1/2 VW. So, we are all interested in how well it does. (They used the same wheels, tires, axles that I did. Glad to see it on a finished airplane and working well.)
