Part One: The Last Semester

Chapter One

It is the first day of a new year, and Culhwch Esau and Phil Tybalt are the first in line to pay their tuition bill, after the University of San Antonio's computers crash.

Chapter Two

Culhwch tells Phil's girlfriend, Helen, about how he and Phil got in trouble the previous semester. Later, Phil visits Culhwch and discovers his house.

Chapter Three

Helen and Nell Stanley decide to create a newspaper that will expose the administration of the University of San Antonio. Phil remembers how he first met Culhwch.

Chapter Four

Everyone meets at Culhwch's house to discuss the newspaper idea. This chapter is shorter than average.

Chaper Five

Culhwch goes to a job interview. The firm he interviews at has a long history of working with students while they are still in school, but they haven't met anyone quite like Culhwch

Chapter Six

Helen interviews a high-school student named Emily Santiago. Emily related to Helen the saga of SAT scores and the incompetence of the University of San Antonio.

Chapter Seven

Zaid Tran visits Culhwch at school, in an attempt to transform him into someone a little more personable. It is her grand entrance into his life.

Chapter Eight

Their newspaper goes to press, via a method of breaking various University laws. When a classmate brings the paper to a professor's attention, Nell admits her part in the project.

Chapter Nine

The newspaper becomes a hit. Nell receives a letter from the administration, wishing to speak with her. That other events that morning begin to create a feeling of paranoia.

Chapter Ten

Emily visits the University to finish her application; a surprisingly quick visit. Not wanting to return to school, she visits a friend of hers at the largest car dealership in Texas.

Chapter Eleven

Nell moves in with Culhwch. They discuss their plans for the summer.

Chapter Twelve

The whole group goes on Spring Break to Galveston. There, Zaid sees a man who seems to be interested in Nell. They also find that the price of gasoline rises daily.

Chapter Thirteen

Emily tries, and fails, to register for classes at the University. She rushes to the campus to figure what the problem is, and is sucked into an old group of "friends".

Unfinished Chapters

Chapter Fourteen

Phil begins to interview for permanent, after-college jobs. He finds that San Antonio is difficult to find work in, while Houston is much easier.

Chapter Fifteen

Helen finds herself cutting back on her driving, because of gas prices. The stress of high gas prices, plus the pressure on Phil to move to Houston, strains their relationship.

Chapter Sixteen

Culhwch receives a notice from his employer that he will be laid off. He challenges the notice, and begins looking for work on his own. In the meantime, his "relationship" with Zaid continues to grow, at least, that is what she thinks.

Chapter Seventeen

Nell tells Zaid about her plan to open a business after graduation. They cut a deal, only after taking the advice of her car salesman (and Emily's best friend) Ram Cosa. Nell finds evidence of a stalker.

Chapter Eighteen

Nell helps Culhwch disassemble his house, and move back to the lot where he found it. She stops travelling alone. Culhwch finishes his final project, and presents it to his hated instructor.

Chapter Nineteen

Emily finds a job, Ram loses his. They move in together The price of gas continues to increase.

Chapter Twenty

Nell, Culhwch, Zaid, Phil and Helen graduate from University and into a world of spiraling gas prices, a booming Houston economy, and a University-wide fall-out.

Chapter Twenty-One

Phil and Helen pack off to Houston. Culhwch, Zaid, and Nell move into his house.

Chapter Twenty-Two

The details of the day when Culhwch's house was stolen.

Part Two: ¡Qué Sí No!

Phil and Helen get married, and start building their careers in Houston. Phil works at Houston's "Third Largest Newspaper!", while Helen works her way up the Houston socio-political ladder. Meanwhile, back in San Antonio, Nell, Culhwch, and Zaid cope with the sudden and bizarre theft of Culhwch's house. Nell opens up an experimental dance club, where Culhwch plays synthesizer. By day, he works for an un-hinged boss, and learns about the world of architecture and construction in San Antonio. Zaid works in marketing and investor-relationships for Nell's club, but finds the relationship between Nell and Culhwch to be taking a frightening angle.
