ok here's a story about my first dead show... on 3/30/94, my friends and i drove from vanderbilt in nashville to atlanta to see the dead at the omni... i had just gotten hooked on the dead by hearing it through the wall separating my dorm room from my neighbor's... so we went, and i had the best time, except i remember being disappointed to learn donna godchaux was not performing... but the thing i remember most besides the music is wandering down the streets trying to remember where we had parked my car, when a volkswagen bug was broadsided in an intersection and was flipped over completely... i just there in shock, as immediately at least 10 or 15 concert goers ran into the street to turn the car back over and check on the driver, while a crowd gathered... amazingly, the driver was perfectly okay if not a little dazed, and people stayed around to make sure... i remember thinking, "what a nice bunch of people"... because you don't see concern like that in downtown atlanta from strangers every day (and especially at night) =o)
