It was just going to be another run-of-the-mill business trip.  I wasn't going to get us lost (unlike the Vermont trip where we almost entered Canada).  It was just Lewiston, Idaho, so I didn't expect anything interesting.  I imagined a small town with a strong leaning towards agriculture.

I forgot about the time I'd spend on the plane.

Luckily, Mira and I each got 2 flight upgrade coupons because it was going to be a brutal trip.  From O'Hare into Denver into Spokane, WA, and a drive into Lewiston.  Blah.  Ideally, I'd get upgraded on both legs coming back but I didn't want to push my luck and tried on all four.  I scored on the leg from Denver into Spokane.  First class, here I come.

Master Distiller.

That's whom I was sitting next to - the one and only
master distiller at Jack Daniels.  He started the conversation by asking me what I do.  I tried to explain and I returned the favor.  He dug in his pockets and produced his rather impressive business card.  I bet he gets a kick out of people's reaction when they see his title.

That was the highlight of my trip and probably the highlight of the month.
