Ranks and their meanings
Twilight Hunter by Alan Carey
Ranks in this guild are slightly different from other guilds. Promotions are reflected only by the subranks, Young through Revered, and the ranks indicate position in the Pack. |

Meaning |
Shar Sei'cair |
Blood of the goldeneyed |
This is the starting rank, and basically means Cub. Until a cub has earned the subrank Young, they will not be allowed to change to most of the other ranks. |
Far'din Sei'cair |
Brother of the Goldeneyed |
This is a rather generic rank, for your average Joe Bob WK, and for cubs who have not yet decided their place in the pack. |
Far'dar Sei'cair |
Sister of the Goldeneyed |
This is also a generic rank, for your average Jane Bob WK, who hasn't yet chosen her place in the pack. |
Mahdi'muaghde |
Literally Seeker of Meat |
More generally referred to as Hunter. This wolf knows all the best hunting grounds, all the deertracks and rabbit trails, and is accomplished with tracking, stealth, and the bow or slingshot. |
A'vron'rhiod |
Watcher of the World |
My personal favorite, this rankcould best equate to a cout, somebody who knows the terrain far and wide, has been there and done that, sounding the waters for those who would follow. |
Aethan Al'cab |
Shield of the Free |
Pack protector, warder, somebody who knows how to defend against the Shadow or whatever enemy may threaten the pack. His duty is first and always to protect the pack - no other cause can draw him from his post. |
A'vron Shar'din |
Watcher of the Blood Brothers |
This wolf has dedicated their efforts to protect and educate the youngest members of the pack. It is their duty to keep the cubs on the straight and narrow, and their joy to bring home another Lost sheep. He is their confidant and teacher. |
Cab'sorei |
Free Runner |
They wander far from the pack, not tied down to any one place or purpose. Some of the less sociable wolfbrothers, they enjoy their freedom, not only to go where they please but to do as they please, often seeing themselves as seperate from the pack's ideals and goals as well as location. |
Vadin ti'Mordero |
Barrier to Death |
These wolfkin have studied or atleast dabbled in the healing arts, herbs, medicine, first aid, etc. They are the healers of the pack, whose knowledge and skills often save the lives of wolf and man alike. |
Cor'a'vron |
Watcher of the Night |
These are the lorekeepers who know the secrets of the Dream World, who guard the young and unwary from the snares that await them while they sleep. This rank is reserved for the most senior of Dreamers. |
Sul'a'sag |
Holder of Time |
his wolf has seen it all, seen cubs come and go, and is so wise and experienced that not even the wolves know when he first came among them. This rank is reserved for the oldest and wisest of the pack. |
Niende |
Lost |
This is a wolf who has forgotten his humanity, and given in completely to his wolf side. He has forgotten words and the ways of man, for these things are too abstract for the wolven mind to comprehend. |
Far'isha Al'cab |
Betrayer of the Free |
This man is no longer a wolf, but has betrayed the very essence of the wolf. There are few crimes which can earn this rank...murder of a wolf or goldeneyed, betrayal of our secret kinship to an enemy. A Betrayer, depending on the severity of his crime, will be hunted and killed by wolf and wolf-friend alike. |
