BLOODRAGE Sorry guys, but that ain't Scott Ian
I checked this one out because it starred a guy named Ian Scott, and Ian Scott is the real name of Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, and, well, I thought maybe...
No such luck. If it were THE Scott Ian, I'd have seen his eyebrows a mile away.
Also known as Never Pick Up A Stranger, this is the tale of a young small-town man who kills the town whore after she threatens to call his mom. So he flees to the big city - that is, Times Square - and finds himself pretty much trying to kill every chick who so much as bats an eye at him. TIP: This is a really lousy way to get laid.
You've gotta see this guy. He looks like the kid in Mask.
Everything here is pretty lame and pathetic except for some appropriately seedy locales, and the half-assed attempt at sort of a Bernard Hermann thing in the score - and in this movie, half- assed is better than no-assed.
It's not even particularly unintentionally amusing, except for the blurb on the back of the box, which I will reproduce here for you:
"BLOODRAGE is a terror filled movie about a psychotic young killer who stalks the streets of New York's decadent Times Square area. It's an action suspense thriller in the style of 'Taxi Driver' and 'Death Wish'. BLOODRAGE pits a ruthless 'Dirty Harry' type cop against a vicious mass murderer who expresses his pent up anger through a series of violent, cold-blooded killings. The film's locations and story line work together to create a mood of Hitchcockian suspense and tension.
A surprise ending that will make you stand up and cheer!"
Not sure what the surprise was supposed to be.
This one's just lame. Avoid. |
