I shouldn't have to tell you how bad this is
A lame, run-of-the-mill slasher flick, not much more needs to be said, but of course I will say it.
A killer's stalking campus coeds (specifically, the ones who get paid $100 an hour for posing naked with dead bodies) with a headsman's axe (just where does somebody get one of thse?). Who could it be? Hint: it's not, I repeat NOT the frat boy who goes out for a walk just before every single killing.
And thus the film vacillates between lame, nearly bloodless murder scenes, lots of topless women, and some of the most juvenile humor I've seen in an R-rated film. Here's some of the shit that's supposed to be funny, I guess.
-one of the fraternities is Gamma Alpha Epsilon, or GAE. Get it, gay? A rival fraternity "gays up" their recruitment video as a prank. Hyuck hyuck hyuck. GAE's revenge for this consists of trashing somebody's room.
-the first victim? Julia McGuffin. See, if she actually served a purpose as a McGuffin, we'd have a joke here. But she doesn't. It's like in Deadly Reactor where the hero shoots a guy and says "Bingo". If that scene was in a bingo hall, we'd have a joke. As it is...
-the guy who wheels in the corpse for the in-class dissection? Mort.
-the "spaced out" journalism prof? Cosmo. (and he's played by Gregg Allman, who'd be completely wasted if he had any acting talent)
-fat guys looking at porno mags and going "Ooh!"
-and mooning, much much mooning.
The one gag that worked - when frat pledges pay ten bucks to watch a hooker fuck one of their own - spying on them through eyeholes cut in Michael Berryman's eyes in a The Hills Have Eyes poster.
You can tell this piece of crap is Canadian becausesomebody's wearing a Beaver Canoe sweatshirt. The one thing (other than the toplessness) that this movie has going for it is a pretty cool "axe duel" at the end of the film. Forget where you get a headsman's axe - where the hell do you get two?
Features performances by three bands which probably thought this was their big break.
