The Duncan Campbell Downfall Drinking Challenge

Few would have believed that in the final year of the last millennium, human affairs were being watched by an intelligence greater than man's.

But that's as maybe.

In December 2000 I went out for a meal and a drink with the rest of the Honours years students and staff from the University of Aberdeen Department of Mathematics.
The resulting piss-up I have subsequently referred to as The Night of My First Downfall.

For I got very, very drunk.

Format

Venue: Setting for the round
Timeframe: A time limit for the round
Easy mode: An easier version for the more sensible among you
Hard mode: The full version of the round, as carried out by me that fateful night.

Round 1

Venue: Estaminet
Timeframe: 7.30 - 8.00
Easy mode: Drink a spirit plus mixer
Hard mode: As above, within 30 minutes of taking medication of the sort that makes you get drunk more easily.

Round 2

Venue: KURYs
Timeframe: 8.00 - 10.30
Easy mode: Stuff yourself with the all-you-can-eat buffet, then eat a slice of chocolate cake. Also, drink a glass of white wine.
Hard mode: As above, plus one of your group must acquire the white wine.

Round 3

Venue: Archie Simpson's
Timeframe: 10.30 - 11.30
Easy mode: 2 rounds of downing a third of a pitcher. Slowest in the second round pays.
Hard mode: As above, but half a pitcher each time.

Round 4

Venue: Po-Na-Nas
Timeframe: 11.30 - 2am
Easy mode: Everyone gets a round. The person doing so is the 'roundee'. In each round, no two people may have the same drink and no-one may assist the roundee in any way.
Hard mode: If you don't think the easy mode (above) is hard enough already, you aren't nearly drunk enough. Drink more.

Disclaimer

Don't actually do it! I was very, very foolish that night and I paid for it when I got home by having to talk to Ralph all night. It is from that night I got the verb 'to chocolate-cake' meaning 'to vomit'.
Oh, and don't steal white wine. That's less than legal. And it's not very nice anyway.
