Submission Guidelines | ||||||
Guidelines: Ficletinis: must be 100 words or less in length not counting title, disclaimers, spoilers, time frame, etc., the 100 word limit is on the story body only. Haiku's are included in this category This limit is strictly adhered to. Ficlets: a short story of 5000 words (more or less). This limit is somewhat flexible, but if it gets too big, I will classify it as a Bermuda. Epilogues: this category is for episode fillers, prologues, tags, epilogues and generally fit the ficlet length criteria. Bermudas: longer than a ficlet, up to about 60 pages in length. [I know this is somewhat arbitrary, but if it gets any longer, I'll have to start another site for long johns.] Challenges: Submissions here can take on any of the three basic forms mentioned, but you must include which challenge the submission belongs to so that it is properly referenced. Original Fiction: Here is a place where you can try out your writing wings. Keep it short (not longer than a Bermuda). It doesn't have to be in the Sci-Fi genre either. I just though it would be nice to have a place to test your writing against a possibly more sympathetic audience. Kennel Club: Do you have any pets? Scan those photos in and e-mail them to me so you can show them off. Rating: I'll accept anything but extreme violence, gratuitous porn, and slash. I do read everything that is submitted, so I reserve the right to reject anything that I feel is inappropriate. Please self rate and include any warnings you feel appropriate, e.g. PG13 for language. Summary: Please include a summary for the longer fanfic as I like to annotate the Ficlet and Bermudas Indices. How to submit: Attach your fanfic to an e-mail and send it to unohoo and specify which category you want the submission to appear in. Do not paste the submission into the body of the e-mail please because the line spacing really gets messed up. Here's an example of what happens. As you can see, the line breaks will really make your fanfic look bad, and I can't guarentee that I'll fix it correctly, especially for the longer pieces. Include your handle as that is how I will reference it, and if you want feedback e-mailed directly to you, what e-mail address I should link to your handle. Acceptable Document types: Everything but Microsoft Works (note this isn't Word, but something else called WORKS), as far as I can tell. You can also compress your file to a ZIP format or HQX format. If you have any doubt about my ability to open your document, then save it as a text file and e-mail me that. |
