The last few anniversary pictures.  Hope you enjoyed them!
Jeanne d'Arc et une amie L'Arc de Triomphe
Near the Tuileries we passed a gilt statue of Joan of Arc, so I asked Dave to take a picture of me with it.  More girl power! :) Dave by the Arc de Triomphe.  The Arc de Triomphe was built for Napoleon as a commemorative monument and is engraved with the names of battles fought in various wars and some of the leaders of the French army units.  Beneath it is the tomb of the unknown soldier and an eternal flame.
Monet
Our last stop Sunday (except for dinner and the hotel, of course) was the Musee d'Orsay.  I only had one picture left on my film, unfortunately, so I decided to take a photo of one of Monet's paintings.  I like this one because it has poppies in it, and poppies are the flower for August when Dave and I were born.  We left Monday afternoon, and though we tried to get to the Louvre in the morning, the line to get in was so long that we knew we wouldn't be able to spend any time there once we got inside, so we unfortunately missed the Mona Lisa and the Nike of Samothrace this time.  Curse you oh cruel fates!  But hey, that just means we'll have to go back soon!  All in all it was a wonderful weekend and a great delayed honeymoon and anniversary gift to each other.
