           General information

U.B.B.S.S.A was revamped in November 2002 with the membership of approximately 30 people. Consisting mainly of beginners and newcomers to the hobby. We are all very friendly and acutely interested in the breeding of budgerigars with our most senior members going out of their way to help the new members of our club with any problems they may experience. We encourage and endeavour to promote the hobby.

All club meetings consist of guest speakers and lecturers on all aspects of budgerigar breeding by leading South Australian judges and open breeders.

The nightly showing of birds is greatly encouraged by the club. These birds are again judged by guest judges who are active in the competition field within Australia.

Trophies are special awards given to encourage the showing of birds especially in the beginner and novice sections.
We do avairy visits to well known Open breeders on a regular basis so that newcomers can see how other avairies are set up as well as the breeding roos. It is also a socializing event.

A bi-monthly magazine is published for our members of the latest news and articles within Australia and overseas. It has within its contents upcoming events in the way of shows as well as human interest
