Elections To UAB Board and UAB Program Planning for 2008/2009 School Year. A few parents have already committed to filling UAB board positions for the coming year, provided they are elected. Would you like to join us? Time requirements are minimal, while serving an important contribution to the interests of children and parents in support of Talented and Gifted. If you would like to visit about such a role, or would like to be listed on the ballot during voting for such roles, please contact Terry Meyer or one of the other current board members as listed on the UAB Home page. Elections are tentatively being targeted for early in the coming school year. Now's your chance to provide input into the programming and direction for UAB plans for the coming year.
April 15th UAB Meeting. 7:00-8:00pm Urbandale Middle School Media Center. Please join us to discuss UAB and TAG in the Urbandale District, possible future UAB topics for the coming year, and consider upgrades or changes to UAB. We are interested in volunteers to serve on the board--a few new candidate board members volunteered at the last meeting. It's relatively easy to serve, and offers the opportunity to provide contacts, information, and leadership to the interests of students and parents especially for Talented and Gifted, in the school district. We hope to continue these discussions, and, tentatively, plan to hold elections for board positions at the first UAB meeting near the start of the 2008/09 school year.
We'll also plan to have a few fun games such as chess, other board games, or mind puzzlers available at the April meeting for your sons and daughters to enjoy while the rest of us discuss UAB programs. Or, bring one of their own board games or mind puzzles to share. Let's have some fun. All school ages. If you have questions, or are interested in considering one of the board positions, please contact Terry Meyer, UAB President, as listed on the UAB Home page. Also, let Terry know in advance if your son or daughter plans to join for the games, and which games may be preferred. |
