Building a GatorBoats
'Big Mama'
I built a one man Gator Boat last year and was needing a 2 man boat for duck hunting, so I decided to build the Big Mama version. I tried to take pics of all the various stages of the boat. During the building process, I went by the plans and didn`t alter anything. I needed a boat that could take two hunters to a blind in a flooded milo field and it fit the bill exactly. Follow along as I build my Gatorboat.
Step 1
Layed out the plans onto the plywood, and cut out all pieces needed.

Here is a pic of the bottom and chines.
Step 2

Attached sides, transom, and bow(the tricky part). Here it is roughed in.
Step 3

After roughing out the boat we spent time cutting everything off flush and getting it sanded down. Notice the screw heads are filled, the brace for the butt joints and floor joint, and the bow eye reinforcement.
Step 4

Front deck test fit and rear transom braces are on.
Front deck and bulk head are done and rear seat is installed.
Step 5
Front seat and both seat supports are finished.
Ready to build the blind for hunting.
