The Servery Wagon and the Chill Hut |
The Servery Wagon is large. Around the walls Y/you will find shelving which houses all the drinking vessels.. three footed bowls, goblets, tankards, tumblers, horns. Also a range of plates and dishes of varying sizes. Cups and saucers and mugs for tea and blackwyne are also on these shelves. (if you are serving and need these items ~s~ your serve will determine whether they are on high or low shelves) To the left of the entry and against the side of the wagon are cupboards with provisions and some bench space. Underneath the bench are a variety of trays, on the shelf above the bench are both small and large tea pots. A stool, useful for standing on if a slave can not reach the top shelves is at the end of the work bench. There is a central hearth/fire place with botas of paga hanging above it to keep warm. The large hot water kettle is here and there is a large kettle of Blackwyne kept here as well. Some cooking can be done at this fire, but the main oven and cooking area is outside the Serving wagon to the right. The Chill Hut/Pit constructed of heavy hide covered with earth is to the right and is large enough to step inside. Lift aside the cover and step down into it. Everything that needs to be kept cool is stored here, so the Hut is quite large. Where things are actually to be found in the pit is not specified. Remember to seal the opening again when leaving it by dropping the cover back into place. It remains cold because of the large blocks of ice that are cut in winter and stacked in the pit. (When the Camp is moving to follow the Bosk, drinks are cooled in the river) |
