Things to remember
Sisters, this girl has spent a lot of time analyzing and working out the mechanics of dances. Hopefully the following words will help you in laying out your dances.

dancing slave of Gor

1. Dances are for the pleasure of Masters. Try to entice this does not mean they must be explicit. Masters are most pleased when slaves show what is inside them. They tend to be less pleased when a slave tries to be someone she is not. ( a lesson this girl learned the hard way)

2. Dances are a form of expression of a girls feelings. Not all dances are meant to purvey a sense of heated need. (that is why there is a need dance). Express your own feelings not those that someone else has told you to have.

3. Dances should never be too long or Masters will loose interest. Most Masters have other things upon their minds. This girl suggests prewritten dances should be no more than 10 posts, each a maximum of 8 lines long in font size 3.

4. Dances are serves of a special type. Each type of dance is a different serve but they all have things in common. Each post should have mention of at least five of the following: hands, feet, hair, eyes, skin, clothing, props, music, pulse, breathing, or surroundings. As well as three of these: position, feelings, smells, sights, sounds (other than music), or onlookers.

5. Each post should ideally be addressed to a different Master. This is not always possible, but if more than One is present, make an effort to draw them all in by posting to each.

6. In the posts, make sure to make mention of the Master it is addressed to in some way. Look up into his eyes, remember the sound of his voice, feel the strength of his gaze make note of the color of his tunic. All of these are things that personalize the dance and make it more interesting and tend to draw the eye of the Master.

7. Dances are to be fun, do not stress over them. Enjoy them for what they are a chance for you to shine. The other slaves of the palace will be more than glad to help you, just ask

8. Often this girl will play a CD while she dances. Something that will help her imagine the beat. Any music that makes you comfortable is fine.

9. Sometimes it will help if you write out the dance first, or at least outline what you wish to convey within each post.

10.  Though some dances are prewritten, they can always be embellished and personalized during the performance. This girl prefers to write her dances as she performs them, much as she does a serve. Not all girls are comfortable with this approach and prefer to prewrite all dances. Either is acceptable as long as the slaves Owner agrees with the practice.

11. Remember your sisters are here to help you, if you are having a problem ask one of the trainers or the dancing slaves, often they are more comfortable and familiar with the terms and expressions used.

12. Always write dances to be performed in the Palace in third person. Just as you would a serve. Not just when referring to yourself, but also when referring to anyone else the terms "the Master" "Him" "He" "my Master" and "the One" are all perfectly acceptable.

13. Try using words the describe the motions you are displaying for example instead of saying "rising from the sands" why not say "billowing upwards as if blown by some strong wind from the sands" or "pulled forth from the sands as if propelled by some unseen rope about her waist". There are two items that will help when writing a dance a dictionary and a thesaurus. Both can help you find words that convey the same thought in a way you may not have thought of before

14. As drifter said before dances are a special type of serve. If a girl thinks of them that way they may be less intimidating.

15. As she said earlier, drifter herself prefers to write her dances as she is doing them, rather than prewriting them. she does realize however that not every girl is comfortabe doing this. Before asking to be trained as a fully fledged dancing slave she would suggest you look at whether you are comfortable dancing at a moments notice. Because often that is what a dancing slave is ordered to do.

16. If a girl is still unsure of dancing, here are steps to lead her through. drifter has listed below the basic outline of all dances

17. If prewriting a dance make sure that the spelling and grammar are correct. There is no excuse for misspellings or bad speach in a dance that has been thought out and is to be copied and pasted into the room.

18. There are many ways to end a dance, the most common is to speak the words la kajira. Others include posting "and the music fades into the night air", or "trembling before him the girl awaits her fate" or "prone the girls body stills as the dance ends". There are others of course, so use your imagination and end your dance how you feel comfortable. Remember, though no matter how you end the dance you are to remain still until your Owner or the person that requested the dance orders you to move.
