Seaweed Interview
When I first began corresponding with Seaweed (former member of the Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 and current bassist for the Graveyard Boulevard) through email, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. But I found that Seaweed was a great guy who was more than happy to answer my questions.

Q: If you ran into someone who wanted to get into metal music but didn't know where to start, what would you advise they listen to?
A: it really depends on what your definition of metal is. when i think metal, i think old school white zombie, pantera, or back farther with black sabbath, i like sepultura, and tool for the more melodic metal. but thats just me.

Q: I know that the Drag Queens were into a lot of onstage theatrics, do you think there's such a thing as going too far onstage? I mean, G.G. Allin would sling his own excrement at the audience, Black Flag pointed guns at anybody who got in their way - do you think there's any such thing as onstage overkill?
A: i think so. it has to be really extreme though. i've always been into bands who put on a show visually as well as musically. i think gg allin took it to the extreme. i've seen alot of footage on gg and i don't think anyone will ever top his live performance. he did some sick shit.

Q: I've done my research, and I've found that you're a big Alice Cooper fan - what is your favourite of his albums? (I personally love "Da Da".)
A: thats a good question. 'love it to death' has been one of my all time favorite albums since the first time i listened to it. it comes down between 'love it to death' and 'killer' i think. great music.

Q: Throughout your career in the music "industry" (if I can indeed call it that these days), have you met any of your idols?
A: thats tough considering most of my idols are no longer alive. i met sasha from kmfdm, that was cool.

Q: What is your opinion on the current manufactured variety of music on the airwaves these days?
A: the only radio i listen to these days are the oldies stations. i love old music. i can't listen to the 'modern rock' stations because when i try to i usually recoil in horror. music today, with very few exceptions, is terrible in my opinion.

Q: What is the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to you during your career?
A: well......i once had someone bring me an actual bag of seaweed straight from the ocean. it smelled like shit so i threw it in the trash.

Q: I've heard rumours that Wednesday 13 will be releasing a compilation of Drag Queens material shortly. Do you know if there's any truth to this?
A: well i do know that he put together a band called wednesday's drag queens or something of that sort and actually toured with some of them. i think he did re-record some of the old stuff and release it, i think.
