While everyone Hordes of the Underdark is coming out in 25th Nov 2003 yea so this is the example of it.
Two new improvements to nwn,  the robe , the sky.
While there are more stuff in HotU like the new weapons, Whip and Dwarfwen Axes. Yep the  new  clothings too like the robe u can edit it to like this picture on top on u can hav long sleeved robe or sleeveless:)kool huh..
Skies: Yes, there are now skys, they arent an actual part of the area, best way to describe them is a checkbox placeable. There is no real movement to them, but they do change from day to night with a transition at dawn and dusk.

Character Changes: 6 new wing types will be available, Dragon (red), Demon (brown and pointy), Angel (fluffy white), Bird (like angel but mottled brown), Butterfly (similar to fairy dragon), Bat (flappy brown). Tails will be available for NPCs, maybe we can find a way to throw them on PCs, tails are, lizard, bone, and devil. Wizards get a new familiar, the Eyeball (Gaul). Robes will be editable just like normal armor, more on this below. 50 new heads, one pointy earred one looks directly out of LoTR, one with spikey hair straight outta Dragonball Z (he has a few piercings on his face too). Now have the ability to have more than one henchman. 20+ new portraits.

Classes: 6 prestige classes
Champion of Torm, Weaponmaster, Shifter, Pale Master (skeletal arm), Red Dragon Disciple(red dragon wings), Dwarven Defender

Tilesets: 4 new tilesets
Drow Interior, Exterior Underdark, Mind Flayer Tunnels, Beholder Tunnels

Creatures: 16 new creatures including...

Weapons: 2 new weapons, Whip and Dwarven Waraxe, and a new color for all weapons- Black.

Sound: 6 new voice sets for PCs and 17 new music tracks, not including the numerous NPC voice sets.

User Defined Talktables:
One of the many great additions, this allows you to edit your own addition to the dialog.tlk file for a module, effectively ending bad strref as we know it. Now you can label and property whatever you want, as long as you know what you are doing with 2das and stings.

Scripts: over 140+ new scripting functions.

Skills: Not sure if these will actually be skills or what but...
Brew Potion, Scribe Scroll, Craft Armor, Craft Weapons, Use Poison

Misc. Changes: Maybe new running/walking animations. Cursed flag is available now, making an item unable to be dropped. Can now edit spells.2da to have subradial spells (ie. shades, polymorph). There is now a check box to leave a lootable corpse on npcs, instead of just a loot bag. Armor appearance is now customizable in game, as well as armor and helmet color. New "Over the shoulder" camera angle.

The following is a few cut and pastes from different places that i felt needed mentioning but were either to big or didn't fit in the catagorys above...

Visual Effects (beams): You could overwrite the mdl files for original ones, but yes, Astorax is correct, anything that is a ProgFx (-> VisualEffects.2da) is hardcoded. HotU will add a variety of new beams (no sound versions of existing ones, no sparks version for some, black and green beams, a flamethrower beam and a "metal chain" beam).

Ioun Stones: Floaty stone things around a characters head...its official, they are in. They give character many properties, almost like equiping another item.

little excerpt here about robes:
Different robe parts will automagically hide certain parts when they're set for the armour. Most replace everything except the feet and hands, some leave the arms as well (of the ones we created. You guys are welcome to go nuts with them.)
Which parts get removed are all defined in a 2da. The four included robe types:
#1) monk/friar robe
#2) male = large tunic, female = dress/gown
#3) wizard robe #1
#4) wizard robe #2 (without sleeves, so you can use whatever sleeve variant you like... or none)

A note on weapon visual effects: Do you mean a "visual effect" property... so that you can make a sword all glowy without it being tied to Holy Damage?
Yes, I believe that is in. There's no extra effects that I'm aware of, but all the currently-existing visual effects can be assigned (and no doubt the community will expand that list a bit).

A note on 2das:
I think we changed iprp_damagetype.2da to enable positive, negative, divine and magical damage. They were always in the game, but not enabled in the toolset interface.
As for other item properties .... patience
Subdual damage must be tracked seperately, and it causes something different to happen when the player hits 0 and it heals differently... an entirely different system. I suppose it could be done, given enough time, but we've no plans to implement it currently.
Dancing Blade was probably planned for original NWN but never got implemented or maybe cut because it did not work out. There are no plans to revive it.

For all you merchant fiends:
a toggle for whether or not the merchant will identify
you can change how much the merchant charges to identify
the store object now has gold... there is a GetStoreGold and a SetStoreGold scripting function. Additionally you can transfer gold from the store object to other objects (like the merchant himself or, say, a chest).
there is a "maximum buy price" toggle... if you select it, you can fill out a field which will become the maximum offer the store will make for any item
there is a "limited gold" toggle... if you select it, you can fill out how much gold the store has to begin with. When it buys from the PC, that gold goes down (and naturally the store cannot offer to buy for more gold than it has). When a PC buys from the store, that gold goes up.

t
here is now an OnOpenStore event as well as an OnCloseStore event
there is now a whole new "Restrictions" tab. On that page, there are two buttons... you can click on either "Store will NOT buy the following items" OR "Store will ONLY buy the following items". Then you have a whole list of the item types (Armor, Amulet, Arrow, Belt, Bolt, etc) which you can drag over to the right side which forms the "Restricted Items" list

Toolset shit:
You can be sure there will be some quite major improvements and feature additions to toolset and scripting language coming with HotU and I think there is even more planned by the Live Team, but we are not ready to discuss those features yet.
Btw, did you know you can press F2 to get a visual studio like command auto completion feature in the script editor?
More:
yes I think you can use some commandline parameters to directly jump into a module. There is also an option to disable the intro movies in the ini file
As for speed, I think the current Hordes Toolset we use internally is somewhat faster doing various tasks than the original SoU one. Some speed improvements should already reach the community with patch 1.31 (hakpak loading, etc)
More on the F2 thing above (i didnt know about this one, nifty little trick for all you scripters):
Start typing the name of a function, press [F2] to get the list of possible functions based on what you've already typed, select the one you want and then press [Enter].
It's not a bug. Once you press [F2], the listbox with the functions has focus and anything you enter at that point on is independent of what you typed prior. Typically, you would use the up / down arrow keys to navigate the list but you can also type letters and the listbox will attempt to find any matches. As I said, this is independent of what you typed prior to pressing [F2]. In your example, you would type 'Send', press [F2] and then type 'SendMessageToP' to get your function. Although, personally, I would type 'SendM', press [F2] and then the down arrow once.
Also, once you find your desired function in the list and press [Enter], the signature appears in the Help tab, just as if you'd double-clicked it in the function list on the right side of the window.
It doesn't bring up a tooltip with the function's signature because it was never programmed to do so and isn't really necessary (see above).

Concerning Items and restrictions on them: If you don't like specific feats on a weapon and you are the DM running a local vault, you should be able to disable the feat through scripting. Currently by simply removing items with the feat, but after HoTU you will be able to completely remove the feat FROM any items when the players log in. leaving the weapon otherwise unaffected.

Gathered from various sources, so if you want to full scoop, go to nwn.bioware.com, www.nwvault.com, or any other site and start clicking around.

Don't forget, once HotU is out, development for the community module will begin, need to get these ideas rolling people!
