AXIS & ALLIES README FILE (9/9/98)
Thank you for purchasing the Axis & Allies CD-ROM game. The following
text describes the last minute changes that were made to the game and
also contains errata for the manual. We hope that you enjoy playing the
game as much as we enjoyed making it.
-------------------------------------------------------
NEW FEATURES:
Timer
During a multiple game you can set a time limit for each phase of a
players turn. The timer setting can be found on the options menu under
the Preferences section. You can manually adjust the time limit for
each phase, each unit of time equals one minute. For example, if you
set the timer to 2 then each player will have two minutes to complete
each phase of his or her turn. Note: the timer can only be set for
multi-player games.
Quick Keys
The following keyboard shortcuts are available:
F6 - Save Menu
F9 - Activate Time Machine
Ctrl-Left Mouse click - Holding down the Ctrl key and left mouse
clicking on a stack of units allows you to move the entire stack during
Combat Movement or Non-Combat Movement.
Purchases Summary
On the country summary menu (activated by clicking on one of the five
national symbols at the bottom of the map screen) is a new button
labeled purchases. This button will show you what purchases you have
made this turn.
Limited Weapon Developments
Weapon Developments have been limited to six chances per turn due to
the limited number of research facilities and resources that would be
available to any country in this game.
Pausing a Computer Controlled Country's Turn
To stop the automatic progression of turn phases for a computer
controlled country, you can either hit the Esc key or left click on the
map. Click on the `Done' button to continue.

MANUAL ERRATA:

The option buttons no longer use red and green lights. Instead each
option button is either bright green (highlighted) which indicates that
the option is "on" or a dim green which indicates that the option is
"off". Note: the options buttons found on the Preferences screen also
follow this format.
Page 8. Moving Units.
The Move Units button is no longer available on the unit edit screen.
On pg. 8 of the manual under the Moving Units heading are instructions
on how to move and add/delete units from the game.

surrender from the Preferences menu.
