IRON__CROSS’s little tids & bits Some People Never Learn:I’m in a game, team game actually. There’s me and Hirohito, taking on 2 no-names in W@W. I believe we were employing the Toten’s Cross actually, and Hirohito was UK. Anyhow, time went by, and the game fanned out, I bought enough inf to make up for my extra Russia fighter, and also happened to buy a tank or 2 a turn. Germany really wasn’t going to go anywhere, and by the time Japan thinking he had a good position when taking Russia’s borders, USA began taking them back every turn. Japan simply was not going to make progress. To further hinder his moral, I kept telling Hiro not to worry, that I could keep Japan at bay FOREVER. Well, push came to shove, and Japan started to pile whatever he could on Novo. Naturally, I decided to let him on a little secret. “Hey you, see all those tanks on Russia, you better move off!”. What was his response? Nothing, he continued while Hiro just snickered and I warned him a second time. Well, No surprise that on Russia’s turn, I moved my stack of tanks, strafed Novo down to whittle sticks, and pulled back home, where I insultingly added another T-34 to the stack. (Warned ya). Now, for phase 2, Japan attempts the exact same novo stack AGAIN! This time I start yelling at him, half begging him not to. Hiro has trouble holding his laughter this time. Once again though, my Japan opponent plays deaf and mute, and tries to hold it. All the meanwhile Germany is sitting there hoping that Japan knows what he’s doing, (No he didn’t know, I don’t think?). Russia’s turn again, I grin and make my attack. BABOOM! My T-34s strafed his Jap tanks and all down to whittle sticks again. Then I retreated back to safety. This time adding to the T-34 stack again. hehe. (Warned ya). Now, phase 3. You would think, after the first time, it’s bad enough. You should learn from your mistakes, if you do it a 2n’d time it’s inexcusable, but... Well you see he went for it a third time still yet! Japan stacks Novo, this time she included every single plane that would fit. Of course I warned him again. Unfortunately for him, he decided to play deaf and blind once again, (probably busy praying?). I did my best, and told him if he was going to give me his planes, then of course I would take him. And I did do just that. Russia’s turn I blasted him, in the battle he had 1 fighter left, I decided to leave it there, and not leave some of my tanks exposed, not that it would be any back-breaker for me but, you know me, always conservative. I retreat back, and threw down another T-34 or 2 into my pile. Guess what? Finally my opponents quit and left. I sometimes wonder if that 3’rd catastrophic failure actually hit a bell, or if he is still making that blunder today. Double IPCs. Yes it’s true, I did cheat once in a game. Though IT WASN’T ON PURPOSE! hehe. Ok here is the deal. It was way back when I was new to the zone. Me and Macros were in a game vs some axis player when it crashed. We regrouped and then hosted the continue. Well, what had happened was the save had been on USA’s collect income. Once in the game I noticed that I had double my cash, though decided not to say anything. I believe Macros noticed then too but did not say anything. When time came for my purchase, I was afraid that my hefty buy would give me away, but my player was not paying detailed attention it seems. Well, who was I to complain? I gladly accepted this gift and sent double my load to Africa, and made sure he was finished with his African campaign for good. A few rounds later I believe he surrendered anyhow. Naturally, i’ve had people try this on me. On one memorable occasion, I was in a game with Toten_Hosen as my allie. Our opponent did a very poor buy/placement and I believe he was going to lose his IC with Japan he had recently purchased. Anyhow the game crashed, because in frustration he had repeatedly hit done as fast as he could do so. Once in the channel he said he had no save and we could not continue. Of course me and Toten had a save on the collect income screen, then he agreed to continue (knowing he would collect double IPCS). However, once we told him he had double IPCs in the game because of the save, he realized he couldn’t take us for suckers and so then immediately quit game and hoped into a new one. Montgomery. Here is a game I will never forget. Me and Toten were once in W@W and saw ‘Axis wanted’ on a room so we joined in. Well once we launched, as soon as I accepted as Japan, the hoster started the game before UK was toggled! To my surprise, neither of our opponents had noticed, each thinking that the other had chosen UK. But me and Toten sure noticed! Round 1 I thought it would be discovered, but they did not clue in so we played along. Russia was wondering why he was controlling UK’s units on defense in the N sea battle, his partner didn’t say a word, and hence I guess Russia thought he was plain dumb, so didn’t ask again. UK’s purchase on round 1 was an IC, which he placed on India. I could have taken it but decided a break was needed for the allies at this point. Round 2 though had me laughing. Montgomery buys a Carrier for the India IC. Right next to my Jap fleet. LOL. Feeling to sad for allies, I decided not to attack it, and left both the IC and carrier in peace. Now, for the rest of the game, Montgomery just shuffled that carrier from India all the way back to the N sea. But before it even got there the allies said gg and submitted. Poor chaps. The whole time they hadn’t clued into the fact that the AI was controlling UK’s decisions! Even after the game Toten made a few comments and asked about the UK player, they still didn’t clue into it. Canal Rules: There’s me, and Toten as allies. A guy called Shonsu_2 comes in the game. We have the rules clearly stated at top, 3’rd rules, RR, etc. and canal rules. Well, we start, and did a Toten’s Cross strategy, which was very mind-boggling to Shonsu_2 which no doubt had never seen this before. So, instead of playing normal, he panicked or something and did some poor moves. One move was putting 2 fighters on Finland to protect 2 inf, while the rest on Finland he used to take open Karelia. Naturally on UK’s turn we moved the Bship from Gibraltar to attack his remaining sub, and used our Canadian transport to hit Finland, and kill his planes. Well right away he started crying, about it. He started telling us some bullshit about how Gibraltar was a canal and since Germany owned Algeria, the Bship is not allowed to move at all there. Talk about a back-stabber, this is a guy who we even gave extra bid to just to be nice when he requested it. We were NOT going to give him another break, and we had also even warned him about his move before he hit done. Well sure enough, he quits game right there, and hosts his own game asp with the title “RR Bid starts at 12 IPCs”. BTW, when we informed his customers that he was a cheater, he responded that me and Toten were cheaters. Ya, I didn’t think he’d fool you either. I caught him shortly after in the ladder room. And brought to the attention of others what he had done. No one bought his story, especially since the fact that anyone who knows bids, or plays in the ladder room certainly would know proper canal rules. He is a poor sport, a quitter, cheater, and liar. But feel free to share this old tale with him next time you see him. :)
