Ann Savageau
Ann Savageau taught Studio Art at the University of Michigan Residential College for twenty-four years before accepting a position at UC Davis in 2003. She has taught courses in design, sculpture, and fibers. Some of her current mixed-media sculptures explore the relationship of humans to the natural world through works which act as mediators between the natural world and human culture. Other works explore the role and history of material artifacts in our culture. Her anthropological training and the many places she has lived are reflected in her art. She has exhibited her work in over one hundred exhibitions. She is particularly interested in teaching studio courses that allow students to develop their creative abilities and express their own ideas about human culture and the natural world.
