Shorty (Virginia) Boucher received her PhD in Plant Ecology from the University of Oregon.Her published papers have been on a variety of topics including plant population biology, biogeochemical cycling, local adaptation, biomass estimation techniques and community ecology. As a result of data collected in NAC 180, she is currently shifting her focus to the study of the endangered Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. She is the Reserve Manager of three of UC Davis's six Natural Reserves and since 1989 has managed reserves through the UC Natural Reserve System for UC Berkeley and UC Santa Barbara, as well as Davis. An avidbackpacker, backcountry skier and equestrian, she also enjoys playing music and reading on a wide variety of topics. |
