FENCING

Yes, I'm a fencer.
No, I don't deal with the chain-link variety.
I carry a sword.
I wear a mask.
I stab and slash.
Any more questions?

Ah, fencing, the graceful art of killing your opponant with long, thin metal blades. It's a rush, I tell you. I started fencing at UCLA two years ago, wanting to try a "different" sport. I already golf, and considered taking Lacrosse or Rugby (hah!), but Fencing seemed to attract my attention the most. After only 2 weeks on the team, I quickly switched from foil to sabre and competed against different NCAA teams in Southern California. I did pretty well, and am now thinking of changing back to foil.

I'm currently unranked, but have faced many A and B fencers!!!! (and lost miserably)

I was a fencing instructor up at Camp Ramah for two summers. It was a great experience for me and I was able to add a level of mastery to my foil talents. The opportunity to stab dozens of children every day for 8 weeks was unsurpassible!

I drew this image on the left. Nifty, huh?

Here are some pictures from the classes I taught at Camp Ramah, 1997
