Ah, UCLA, my home for the next 2 years...

The University of California at Los Angeles is located in Westwood, CA. It's a fairly large university (about 30,000 students) with a wide assortments of programs and majors.UCLA's got major sports teams in football, basketball, tennis, golf, volleyball, softball, baseball, gymnastics, track & field, and fencing (all respected and wagered heavily on).

UCLA has many special graduate and undergraduate schools, one of which is the school of film, theatre and television. This is my current goal for the next two years, and I have approximately an 1 in 5 chance of being accepted into the school. In preparation of application, I have taken several classes associated with the major.

One of these classes, Musicology 7, discussed the history of Film and Music. It was a fascinating class taught by a great professor, and has enlightened me in the ways of Film Scores. (My entire CD library now consists of mostly film scores!) For our final project, we had to put together a soundtrack to accompany the OJ Simpson Verdicts. Being into Star Wars, I decided to use John Williams awesome score music which had great results. To the left is the Cover design I did for the project. (Hopefully I won't get sued for copyright infringement!)

One of the many cool things about attending a world-recognized university is the guest speakers and professors that occassionally drop by. One of these guests was 1988 presidential candidate Michael Dukakis, who taught a political science course which I attended.

At UCLA I'm on the Fencing Team, where I fence competitive sabre against such schools as U$C, UCSB, UCSD, Cal Tech, and others. I'm thinking of giving foil a try these days. Why not check out the UCLA Fencing Club Web Page?

More UCLA Stuff to come.
