Recruitment Information

INTERESTED IN ALPHA XI DELTA?

Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity has initiated more than 142,000 women. We currently have 112 college chapters throughout the United States, and Alpha Xi Delta continues to expand. See if there is an Alpha Xi chapter on your campus.

How do I become a member?

Because Alpha Xi Delta is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference, we recruit new members under their guidelines. The most common way to become a member of Alpha Xi Delta is to participate in the formal recruitment (rush) process. Contact your campus Panhellenic Council or Greek Office on the dates of formal recruitment.

If a chapter has vacancies in its membership total at the end of formal recruitment, Alpha Xi Delta also offers potential members the chance to go through an alternate recruitment process called Continuous Open Bidding. The COB process is a great way for you to get to know Alpha Xi Deltas on your campus in a more casual setting. COB usually occurs after formal recruitment is over or during semesters when formal recruitment is not held. For more information about Alpha Xi Delta's COB activities on your campus, contact your local Alpha Xi Delta chapter or email us at fhq@alphaxidelta.org.

Academic Achievement

When our founders were searching for a symbol to represent our great Fraternity over 100 years ago, they looked to the time honored maxim "the pen is mightier than the sword" as their inspiration. The Quill of Alpha Xi Delta was chosen to represent the emphasis that Alpha Xi Delta's everywhere place on academics.

To become a member of Alpha Xi Delta, you must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative college GPA or 2.75 high school GPA. Once you are a member, our chapters have a myriad of programs to help you succeed in the classroom. Each chapter has developed a complete academic achievement program that is tailored to suit the needs of that individual chapter. With the assistance of our National Academic Achievement Chair and advisors, chapters have been innovative and creative in their programming. Some tools that chapters use include: test files, study buddies, tutoring programs, incentives for class attendance, and other recognition for good grades. Many chapters have an awards ceremony at the end of the academic year to honor those members who have excelled academically.

In addition, the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation offers thousands of dollars in scholarships for collegiate members. These scholarships are offered to initiated freshmen through seniors, in a wide variety of courses of study. Scholarships are also often available through a chapter's local alumnae association or corporation board.
