A Moment With Our Minister
"A.S.A.P."
I enjoy receiving Church articles written by colleagues. Though I
failed to mark where this article is from, it is good enough to repeat. I have
taken the liberty to edit a little.
"Ever wonder about the abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it
in terms of responding to a written invitation. Maybe if we think of this
abbreviation in a different manner, we may find a new way to deal with
life and circumstances in life.
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry -
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest -
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
It may seem like your worries
Are more then you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather -
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs -
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER."
Mr. John Wesley asks us to consider praying. To paraphrase his
statement about prayer, The world has not seen what can be accomplished through
prayer.
Have you ever viewed Jesus' life from the perspective of prayer? Two
things stand out. The "oftenness" of Jesus praying, and "rising before dawn
(or day) to pray". If Jesus felt the need of prayer, what about me, and
you?
Let us not be guilty of "saying" a prayer. Let us pray from our
hearts.
your friend and Pastor, John
