The Picket Line
April 2004
BE ye in love with April-tide?
I’ faith, in love am I!
For now ’t is sun, and now ’t is shower,
And now ’t is frost, and now ’t is flower,
And now ’t is Laura laughing-eyed,
And now ’t is Laura shy.

Message from the President
Saint Patrick was indeed smiling upon the parade. We had a very good turn out both in public and in our group. Before we even got started, the Confederates were able to have their picture taken with dignitaries from Ireland. Hurrah for the South.
Then the fun began. We were proceeded by the Union Flags, then the Camp Floyd banner, which in my humble opinion, was the grand title piece. Then came the troops, both Union and Confederate, side by side.
Then the ladies, what a wonderful group to have to back one up. Then the Fife and Drum. Nice touch to add to the flavor of the procession. The Calvary followed on the flanks with their grand spectacle.
'Twas a lovely day to have a marvelous parade.
As we walked, we were greeted with cheers and hurrahs. One spectator even called out "The South Shall Rise Again!" To which we lifted our hats and cheered him.
Thanks to all for such a grand and wonderful turn out and help to make an impression on the public. Thanks also to John Mount for getting the interest of three spectators to show interest in our group and possibly coming to the next meeting.
Again, thanks to all.
President Ralph Bryson
