| Summer declines and roses have grown rare, But cottage crofts are gay with hollyhocks, And in old garden walks you breathe an air Fragrant of pinks and August-smelling stocks. -- John Todhunter (1839-1916) |

| As we move into August, it seems that we had only just started this year and now here it is almost the end of summer. I hope that the rest of the year will be good for all of us as the first part was. This has been a fun year so far and I hope that it will continue to be fun for the rest. I have seen many things in this group. Things like, growth in friendships and a stronger bond in the organization. I am saddened that the group is not as big as it could be. But atlas, it’s but a small thing to pay for the price of being so good, don’t you think? No, we must push forward and renew our efforts to gain the high ground. We must and will make ourselves known. We have opportunities coming the next two months that can help us gain momentum and get this organization moving again. August meeting we need to discuss the battle plans for the September’s events and rally the troops about Camp Floyd. Attraction, publicity and visibility are what are needed in getting us noticed. We can achieve this by doing well on the events of September. Please bring ideas and plans for the August meeting so that we might discuss them and get things in line. Thank you, Your most humble servant, Ralph |
