The School at Camp Floyd
General membership meeting 12:00 PM
Potluck and party to follow
Please be advised that our monthly meeting will be at Camp Floyd, starting this month.
December's meeting will be at 12 noon until 1:00 pm. We'll have a potluck and a Christmas party after the meeting.
The reason for the change of venue is that from my experience, since the Park has changed management, they feel that the Confederates are not Utah authentic. And seem to want to pay more attention to the Mormon Battalion and the time of the Saints in Utah than the Civil War. Therefore, they have made things, in my opinion, a little more difficult in facilities. I've had to find someone to open structures up so to have our meetings and they in return told me that they were not expecting us.
I'm sorry for the last minute notice, but I've checked on the Salt Lake City library system, and they want an application for every meeting since they are in demand for space.
I feel that the Camp likes our organization for the reason that we are who we are, Rebs and Yanks. And they are very kind to offer the school for our meetings and help us, in return we help them. By pageants and Civil War Days and educating visitors during the summer months when they have their tourist season.
I am looking forward to the opportunity of serving y'all and helping, in a small way, to get this organization going in this new era of Camp Floyd.
