The Union County West End Fire Department, and Ambulance, provides emergency services to approximately 3,500 residents of Hartley Township, Union County. We also provide mutual aide coverage to our surrounding communities. The department covers about fifty square miles, which is mostly State Forest land, that boasts some of the best hunting, fishing and camping areas available anywhere. The department operates two engines, a tanker, brush truck, utility, rescue and two ambulances, and is staffed by forty volunteers ranging from firefighters to EMT's. The department, which was chartered in 1950 and celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 2000, responds to nearly 300 calls a year, with the majority being EMS responses. Our department prides itself on it's number of volunteers, for a relatively small community. Please feel free to browse our site, and send any questions or comments to our email address. |
