"Whatever is done out of love takes place beyond good and evil."
- Nietzsche
I disagree with this quote.  As a Christian I believe that if someone has love then that person has no trouble with breaking the law.  I do not see how true love could be involved in something evil.  God is love, and God cannot cause anything evil..
A man in Memphis, Tennessee, shot his ex-girlfriend in the face because he said he loved her so much that he did not want anyone else to have her.  Some people argue taht it is fine to feed a hungry family by stealing.  This is selfishness.  If the man really loved her he would have let her go.  If a person wants to feed her or his family then she or he should get a job or go to a shelter.
I also believe that self defense should not be a factor in this quote since it is not a crime.  I cannot think of a crime that I have ever heard that can use the excuse love.
