1. Jimmy Page & Robert Plant- Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour Delta Center 1996.  The most amazing show I've ever seen!!  They played with the Heber Valley Orchestra for about 3 hours and I was blown away.

2.
Ben Harper- Kingsbury Hall 1997.  I loved Ben Harper's music befor the show, but by the time the concert was over he had become my second favorite musician.

3.
Tool - E Center Lateralis Tour 2002. Now this was my second Tool show and the third time I had seen Maynard perform, but I have to say it was the most moving.  They got away from there older heavier stuff and played a melodic show that was more like a Symphony than Rock Concert

4.
Presidents of the United States / Dag - Club DV8 1995.  This may seem like a strange choice for a 4th best concert, but it was the "Best Bar Show" and "Best Suprise Show" I've seen.  We saw a poster for a $7 show and couldn't miss that.  There were only about 50 other people there and the Prsidents even called one of our friends onstage to sing with them.  The real suprise came when Dag, a funk band from N. Carolina played and blew everyone away.

5.
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire Tour Spanish Fork Rodeo Grounds 1996.  The SLC city council banned Rage from playing in their city but Spanish Fork had no problems.  It was the most energetic and rocking show I've seen.

6.
Tool - Aenemia Tour E-Center 1999.  I liked Tool's radio songs but wasn't a huge fan until after this show.

7.
Iceburn - Salt Lake Arts Festival 1996. It was hardly a concert, but after I saw this SLC Hardcore Punk meets Jazz Fusion Band, I was blown away.  They quickly became my favorite local band.  The next day when I went to Bockbuster to buy a CD, I met the bass player who worked there!

8.
A Perfect Circle - Saltaire 2001.  Maynard knows how to put on a show.

9.
Peter Breinholt and Stretch Armstrong - U of Utah LDS Institute 1995.  This was the most rocking "Mormon Concert" I've seen.  In the mid 90's there was a strong following for about 4 local bands.  The little "festival" at the institute that was rained out and moved inside, and by the end of the show, the ceiling was dripping with sweat from the thousands of dancing bodies.  The best thing about it was that everyone there understood that you could rock out and still be a good Mormon!

10.
Violent Fems - U of Utah Student Union Building 1995.  My first date with Meg!

11.
Tool - MaCay Center Lateralis Tour 2002.  Yes it's not a mis-print,Tool did two shows on the 2002 Lateralis tour! (only 1 month apart - the second show was in Orem).  Since we had already seen them earlier in the summer we decided to try our luck at finding cheep scalper tickets after the opening act was finished.  We found GA ones for less than half the face value!

12.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers & Foo Fighters - Californication Tour E- Center 2000.  I wasn't really a Foo Fighters fan until after this show, but the best part by far was the Chilli Peppers.  We were over the wall and into the pit before the first song ended.  When it was over I started the 3 1/2 hour trip back to Jerome so I could get up and go to work the next morning.

13.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo - Kingsbury Hall 1998.  See them if you ever get the chance!

14.
Aerosmith & Skid Row - Salt Palace 1989.  My first concert.  The thing I remeber most is looking at all the people and thinking "where do all these people work?"

15.
Soul Coughing - Saltaire 1998.  Quote by Doughty "We're not a moshing band... why are you moshing?"

16.
Joshua Redman - Yoshi's Sushi Bar Oakland CA 2000.  Emma's first concert (in utero).

17.
Metallica & Candlebox - Wolf Mountain 1994.   My first introduction to a "mosh pit".  Also the first concert after the mission.  The best part about it was hitch-hiking from the summit in Parley's canyon because our car died.  We missed opening act Suicidal Tendancies and Candlebox who played in place of originally scheduled Alice in Chains.

18.
Stone Temple Pilots & Godsmack - Return of the Rock Tour E-Center 2001.  Goshsmack put on as good a show as STP.

19.
Pearl Jam - Delta Center 1996.  This was the make-up show for the snowed-out concert at Wolf Mountain.  I think the original show would have been higher on the list.

20.
Weezer & Archers of Loaf - Utah State Fairpark 1995.  We forgot earplugs so we bought peanut M&M's.  (lets just say they melt in more places than your mouth).  Well I was in the moshpit and someone crashed into my ear and smashed melted chocolate all over my face, I looked over and it was Chris who thought he had just crushed my ear!

21.
Greatful Dead - Delta Center 1996.  The Greatful Dead experience is better than the music show itself.  I bought 2 tie-dye t-shirts and Navaho Tacos in the parking lot before the show.  Jerry Garcia died a few months after the SLC show.
