Uzbekistan is one of the former Soviet Union countries that is now called NIS (Newly Independent Statements). Uzbekistan got his Independence on October 1, 1991. That year it got its president, Islam Abduganievich Karimov, its parlament, and its constitution. So, new democratic statement appeared on the territoty of the Central Asia. Uzbekistan is located at the heart of the Central Asia, at the path of Syrdarya and Amudarya rivers. It is next to other NIS countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan; it also next to Afghanistan that sometimes causes a lot troubles. Part of the The Great Silk Road, one of the most famous historical tradepaths that connects West and East, lays on the territory of Uzbekistan.
