The Travis Diaries
Lake Travis, located on the outskirts of Austin, has been one of our most popular dive sites. With camping and a dive air station, Richard Barstows Windy Point Park was the site of our first 2002 dive rally on May 11th. The lake here is generally clear with 10-40 foot viz, plenty of fish in summer, and easy diver entry (somewhat useful when diver is rigged in full heavy gear!).

UHEXSO dive team members:Pat and Russ Miller, David Bonett
and John Hoover
Missing: Pat and Bob Sharp, Paul Schenk, Richard Lowe.
Right: Our May event included Superlites, classic Mark V, Miller-Dunn and Morse shallow hats, and even some scuba. The big hit was the shallow water hats brought by Rich Lowe. Easy to don, they quickly saw lots of use. Some still prefer to dive in a dress. No accounting for taste. Here are some photos of the divers in action.
