WHY DO MUSLIMS SAY THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD
Islam asks all the believers to worship only one God. Associating partners with God is one of the greatest sins.
If someone comes to you and says that he is god, what will be your criteria for accepting him as god? He should,  at least, be much more powerful than everyone else. Anyone who is not, will be accepted by no one, as god.
If there were two gods, both of them will either be equally powerful or one can be superior and  the other one, inferior. If latter is the case, then, whoever is inferior can not be God because God should be superior over all beings.  Anyone who is less powerful than someone, can not be accepted as god.
If both the gods are equally powerful, then, neither of the two gods will have power over the other god. Thus, they will not be superior over each other. God should be the most superior. He should have power over every one else. Whoever doesn't can not be God. Therefore, there can only be one God.
If there were many gods, the condition of the world would be similar to the condition of a car that has many drivers. If all the drivers are given full control of the car, they will try to take it where ever they want. If they don't agree with each other and try to move it in opposite directions, the car will not move an inch. Considering this example you can imagine the havoc that would have been created if there were many gods!
God would only need partners if he could not handle the whole universe himself. Someone who can not control what he has created,  can not be god.
Any one who does not agree with me can send his/her arguments by email or by signing the guestbook. Please keep whatever you write in the guestbook short and to the point, otherwise your complete question does not reach me.
