This page is for all those who are new to Witchcraft its just some basic good advice on how to live as a Witch.
These are not laws to be upheld,
just some wise words from us and other Witches .
Think about each of these do's and don'ts and maybe you have a few of your own to add.
These are a list of things that as a Witch you should be aware of:
1~ Be responsible for your own actions, this goes for daily life as well as spell casting.
2~ Be free spirited.
3~ Be respectful to all other living things.
4~ Do follow your own heart and mind.
5~ Remember that the real magick is inside you !.
6~ Do believe in yourself and what you stand for.
7~ Do practice, you only learn by practice.
8~ Keep your thoughts and words in good order.
9~ Think practical over glamour.
10~ Do try and help others if you are able.
11~ Explain what witchcraft is , to those who do not understand , but are willing to listen.
12~ Do tune into nature and all the seasons and cycles.
13~ Take the time to meditate and find yourself.
14~ Do practice what you learn.
15~Find your skill in the craft, it could be divination or making incense,
spell writing or a psychic ability or many of the more skills Witches have.
16~ Do believe in yourself and others.
17~ Do give thanks to the deity’s if you use them in your workings.
18~ Always keep a spare lighter or matches near your alter or working space.
19~ Always read through a spell properly before casting,
check you have what you need if you dont have something then improvise (use the next best thing).
20~ Follow the moon cycle to assist you in magick.
21~ Remember in the old days they were lucky if they had candles,
so if you havn't all the tools and such dont worry. (see 5 and 19).
22~ Find a special place either in your home or in a park where you can practice, without being disturbed.
23~ Your altar or working space can be how you want it to be .
(mine is a round piece of pine wood trunk, with stones , goddesses and candles).
It can be simple or stunning, choice is yours.
24~ Witchcraft means craft of the wise , so be a wise Witch and ignore those who are ignorant to you.
25~ Read books by all means but use them as guides, take the spells and adapt them to suit you.
26~ To be a Witch you must be strong willed as well as wise.
27~ Practice your visualization skills.
28~ It does not matter if you have just picked up a book , or visited a site on Witchcraft and then decided
''oh I want to be a Witch'',
if thats what you want to do then study it for a while and see how you feel ,
if you feel it is still for you then go for it!.
29~ Be assertive, be polite and be happy.
30~ Write your own spells you will be amazed at the end results.
31~ The Divine is within you and is everywhere present in the natural world.
And everything is interconnected by this sacred energy.
32~ The real secret of successful spell casting, as with all of magick,
is your connection to the Divine power that dwells within you, and surrounds you.
And spells do work so be careful what you ask for!.
33~ Know yourself and know your craft.
34~ Look after yourself physicaly and mentally.
35~Be postive.
Now follows a list of things that as a Witch you should think about not doing. We are not telling you that you can't do any of these things ,
just think good and hard first to see if its worth it.
The saying goes ''if in doubt leave it out''.
1~ Don ‘t use your magick to show off, or to threaten people with, it does no good to our craft.
2~Don't be rude to those of other faiths, not everyone understands why we are Witches,
if someone is rude to you because you are a Witch,
just turn the other cheek.
We as Witches do not need to explain ourselfs or our believes, to those who have no time to listen.
3~ Don ’t dabble in things you don’t understand, this could be anything from the spirit board or dark magick.
4~ Don ’t let people walk all over you.
5~ Don't believe that as a Witch you are invinsible because you are not! , you are still a human.
6~ Don’t invoke Deity’s unless you need them in your workings.
7~ Please don’t do a spell where you wish someone to die or seriously injure him or herself.
Besides being extremely stupid, their death might not be a particularly good punishment for them.
However, it would punish their family and friends who don’t deserve the pain that that person's death would cause.
If you are particularly angry with someone, think very carefully before doing any spells against him or her.
Only do anything when you have weighed up the consequences and you have calmed down.
If you cannot forgive them, think over your motives for doing a spell. They might not be as honourable as you think.
8~Witches don't command and control -- they commune and co-create.
9~ Dont give Witchcraft a bad name be respectful to the craft.
10~ Dont take too much on at one time, if you are studying the craft pace yourself.
11~Witchcraft comes from within ,most people become wiccans instead of Witches as they were told they couldnt be Witches unless they were in a covern or were born into it, that is wrong.
12~You dont have to follow a tradition, you can make your own tradition or covern.
13~ Dont be misserable , you are a Witch be happy!.
