The LAW of POWER
POWER shall not be used to bring harm, to injure or control others.
But if the need rises, it can be used to protect your life or the lives of others. .
POWER is used only as need not want dictates. .
POWER used for prideful gain cheapens the mysteries of the craft and magick. .
POWER is the gift of the God/dess and elements, and should never be misused or abused.
These valid points came from a website and the Author is unknown.
I have added a few points myself.
POWER is not a weapon it is a tool
POWER is there to be harnesed for good
POWER must not be wasted do not cast spells just because you want to, only cast when needed
POWER is not a toy to be played with or show off with
To be a witch is to love and be loved.
To be a witch is to honour the gods, and yourself.
To be a witch is to see beyond the barriers.
So then you want to be a Witch or you have just started practicing.
So you need to know what it is about, and how to walk a Witches path.
Well read through this page, and others on this website and take the info you need and use it.
To be a witch is to follow the moon and her many phases.
To be a witch is to study and to learn.
To be a witch is to be the teacher and the student.
EVERYDAY CRAFT
Being part of the Craft is more than a religious practice.
It can effect how we live our lives and what choices we make.
Also, being a Witch means you are a member of an 'alternative' religion that is also misunderstood by the general public.
Try practicing some sort of religious ritual other than just planned Sabbats /Esbats.
Examples can include, daily or occasional prayers and offerings of thanks, keeping a permanent altar, practicing Magick to fill needs of your life, etc.
Meditation and study can be another important aspect of your new life.
Meditation is a great tool that can be used for pathworking, deity connections and finding animal totems.
Like any other skill, it can gets rusty if not used.
Try to set a regular time every day / week /month to brush up on your meditation skills, even if it just to relax.
Beginners may need to practice more often than skilled meditators.
Spend time studying magick, Wicca, other religions and philosophies if you haven't already seen .
Do not be overwhelmed by this.
The studying never ends.
So hide in the corner of a bookshop and read a book, research the internet or share ideas with other online or local (if available) pagans.
Study keeps your practice always new, changing, and wondrous. The quest for knowledge is our most precious blessing.
Volunteer your time to your community, feeding and raising money for the poor, visiting the ill, teaching, cleaning up your local park, getting involved in environmental issues, recycle, save water and energy, donate money to environmental causes, fighting racial and cultural discrimination, as well as 'all' types of religious discrimination and intolerance, are all ways of serving the God/dess. Giving of yourself is performing the work of the God/dess.
Don't get overwhelmed!.
Remember, the worst thing is to do nothing at all because you can only do a little.
Pick and choose things you like and feel strongly about, and do what you can.
Always remember to take care of yourself, too.
Don't get stressed out and put too much on your plate.
These wise words were found somewhere on the net and I don't know who the author is but had to add it here as I know that the more who read it will benefit from it. |
