At the start of the book, Cassie decides to morph a squirrel to catch a bird killer in her barn. Turns out it was a fox. Tobias almost eats her, not realizing it's a morph. They discover they are both having thesame dreams about someone below the sea calling for help.
The Animorphs see on the news a piece of metal that both they and the Controllers recognise as Andalite. They decide to investegate. They aquire dolphins to try and find the Andalite. They run into a pack of sharks attacking a great one (a whale). They save the whale, who then shows Cassie the location of 'something new in the sea'. It's too far out to sea for a 2 hour journey there and back, so they morph seagulls and hitch a ride on a ship. After working out how long it will take them to get there at the speed they are at, they jump off and morph dolphins. At the bottom of the sea, they find the dome of an Andalite Dome Ship. In it, they find Aximilli-Esgarroth-Isthil. Marco nick-names him Ax. But the Controllers have also found the dome and start depth charging it, just as the Animorphs morph dolphins and Ax morphs a tiger shark. Taxxons and Visser Three chase them until they are almost worn out. Cassie calls for the whale and him and his family save the Animorphs from the visser. Upon reaching shore, Ax is introduced to the final member of the Animorphs, Tobias, and pledges alligence to Jake and the Animorphs. He then aquires Jake, Rachel, Cassie and Marco and mix their DNA to make a new morph. They go their seperate ways and Cassie takes Ax to her farm to hide him in the fields farthest from her farm house. |
