1. Regularly go to a place where you can learn about a faith. This could be a church (mid-week club or Sunday school), gurdwara, mosque, synagogue, temple or other place of worship.
2. Either
Take part in a Brownie’s Own or Thought for the Moment with other Brownies. Use songs, stories, drama, mime or music, with at least one piece being from your own faith.
Or
Write a prayer or poem about keeping your Brownie Promise. Use it at a suitable event.
3. Find out about someone whose faith plays an important part in the way they live their life.
4. Do each of the following:
Find out about a religiously based organisation that works for the good of other people, like Christian Aid, Khalsa Aid, SEWA International, Muslim Aid or Jewish Care. Make a poster about their activities. Describe a good turn you have done. Explain how it helped you to understand your Brownie Promise.
5. Find out about at least two festivals or celebrations from your own faith or another. Make a poster or collage, take photographs or write a story or poem about one of them.
6. Find out how local communities have enjoyed themselves together, for example at a joint Brownie and Cub event or an inter-faith celebration. |
