1. Either
Safely enter the water from the edge of the pool.
By bending your knees, submerge yourself in shallow water ten times, breathing out each time.
Briefly sit on the bottom of the pool.
Push off from the side of the pool, showing a back glide then regain a standing position.
Swim front paddle or front crawl for ten metres.
Swim on your back for ten metres. Swim another stroke for ten metres.
Or
Hold either the STA Pool Frog 2 Award or Goldfish 1 or ASA Water Skills Grade 2.
2. Do each of the following:
Know why you should not run on the poolside.
Know what you should do before getting into the pool.
Be able to tell which is the shallow end and which is the deep end of a pool.
Know who to tell if you feel unwell, or if there is an accident in or near the pool.
