SWIMMER ADVANCED
You don’t have to have the Swimmer badge before working for this badge.

1. Either

Jump into deep water and tread water for 20 seconds.

Scull in a sitting-tuck position for 20 seconds. Stretch out to float on your back and then tuck in again before regaining a standing position

With your body in a vertical position and your feet together, scull with your hands. Keep your mouth clear of the water for five seconds.

Float on your back for two minutes with your feet together. Scull with your hands to stay afloat.

With a float, swim front crawl (legs only) for 15 metres.

With your hands behind your head, swim back crawl (legs only) for 15 metres.

Using a float, swim breast stroke (legs only) for 15 metres.

Swim either breast stoke, front crawl or back crawl for 15 metres.

Or

Hold either the STA Pool Frog 3 Award or Goldfish 3 or ASA Water Skills Grade 3.

2. Confidently swim 50 metres in any stroke without stopping.

3. Discuss with the tester the reasons for the hygiene and safety rules at your regular swimming pool.
