The grand old GLOBAL MARINER, an I.T.F. training ship which suffered a collision with a 9,000 ton dry cargo vessel ("Atlantic Crusader") in the Orinoco River, August 2000. Hatches 1 - 4 flooded within a a matter of minutes, causing the sinking. A sad end to a noble idea.
