11. THE BRIDGE The Bridge is where the ship is commanded from when at sea, with a good view forward (to see where the ship is heading !). On the bridge are radar and steering controls and communications with all other parts of the ship and radios to shore. The chartroom is a special curtained off area on the bridge, where the course of the vessel is charted.
