WATER SPORTS 101

From sails to tackles to doing it deeper--here's everything you'll ever need to know about getting totally wet -- and not drowning in the process.

SCUBA DIVING:
Using an underwater breathing apparatus to see fish in their living rooms.

WAKEBOARDING:
A fusion of waterskiing and surfing. Instead of riding a wave, you strap yourself onto a board and hold on to a cable that pulls you through the water.

SAILING:
Maneuvering a boat through water using just the wind, your strength, cunning and your bloated ego.

FISHING:
Trying to match your dim wits against the wet wit of those wily little fishes. in other words, you try to trick them into eating worms or balled bread cunning arranged on a deadly hook.

WINDSURFING:
holding up asail attached to a board and guiding it via the wind across a lake.

SURFING:
Standing on a board to ride a wave. This is slightly different from what you do with a mouse and a monitor.
