Dear
Dr. Leijenhorst,
I
have recently read about the project From Natural Philosophy to Science
on the web, precisely on the web pages of E.S.F., the European Science
Foundation.
My
interests had been growing onto the reflection of an italian thinker: Giordano
Bruno from Nola (1548-1600). They consent me to open a view towards the
connection among theology, politics and natural philosophy at the rise of the
so-called modern age and, in un unexpected way, nowadays. I found a mirable
coincidence between the problems of the society of the late Renaissance and
initial modern times with the problems of the contemporary occidental culture.
Having written some articles, essays and books about these themes and problems,
I imagined to send some of them to your attention. And to the attention of
others academics (Prof. Thijssen, Dr. Lüthy, Dr. Palmerino, Dr. Pluta).
So
here you may find two little books in italian: Il concetto creativo e
dialettico dello Spirito nei Dialoghi Italiani di Giordano Bruno
(Napoli, Edizioni Scientifiche Italiane, 2003); Una modernità mancata:
Giordano Bruno e la tradizione aristotelica (Roma, Armando, 2004). You
might find even a short series of others works of mine asking them to Prof.
Thijssen, who I hope will help me in their distribution.
I hope you’ll enjoy these works of mine.
Please, forgive my bad and elementary english.
Many
greetings,
…………………………………
(Stefano Ulliana).
